    PROJECT: SUPPORT A CHILD WITH FURTHER EDUCATION

    Many of the Farmers we work with do not have enough money to support their children to continue school after middle school. Danyun has established an Education Assistance Program where children of the Farmers can apply for support to attend further education and to pay tuition fees, buy books and pay for board and food. A student needs approximately 1000 USD per term. Your gift will help the Artisans and farmers to support their children to go to high-school and for the students with ability, to continue their studies at a higher education facility. Your support for this program will lift these children into a brighter future.

    PROJECT: SUPPORT A FAMILY TO BUY A PIG

    In 1999 Danyun initiated a Micro Finance Assistance Program. The purpose of the program is to give the farmers and artisans an opportunity to make more income from raising and selling livestock. This year we want to support families in Jigaize to raise pigs. Your gift will help one family in Jigaize getting started with pig raising. The extra income they earn from this will help support their lives – helping them raise their standard of living and giving their children a better education.

    PROJECT: SUPPORT A FAMILY TO BUY A GOAT

    One of the challenges for the farmers in the Tea area is to get organic fertilizer for their Tea fields. Without organic fertilizer the quantity of tea they can produce is only 60% of what they can produce from non-organic tea fields. As the tea price in the market is very competitive it is important to help the farmers get a higher yield from their fields in order to make a sustainable income. Raising goats will help the farmers to make income. The income from the goat project can help them to buy organic fertilizer for their fields.

    PROJECT: SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH A NUTRITIOUS MEAL

    In the rural areas where Danyun works many small village schools have been closed and the children from 1st grade are sent to boarding school. Although the school fee is free the families still have to pay for meals and boarding. Most of the pupils come from families who have less than $ 160 USD cash income per year. So the families can only afford to pay for meat for their children, once or twice a month. Through several years, Danyun has supported school children in 2 schools with meat for 2 meals a week. We would like to continue this during the 2016 school year.

    PROJECT: SUPPORT A DAYCARE PROJECT FOR THE ARTISANS JIGAIZE

    Danyun and the women in Jigaize have a dream to setup an indoor and an outdoor play area for the children aged 1-6. The women love to come together to embroider and work on products in the Unit, but they always have to carry their children. Our plan is to hire a young girl to work a few hours every morning and afternoon to take care of the children so the women can be free to do their work and also so the children can be motivated in different ways. We need funds to pay a salary and training for a young girl to take care of the children, and to buy toys and other supplies for the children to use. Your gift will support this program to be operational for the women and their children.
